Nominations are now open for the 2026 Women in Accounting Awards
The accounting profession is changing fast. AI and automation are reshaping how work gets done. Client expectations are rising. Firms are rethinking how they price, package and deliver their services. And across the industry, women are helping shape what comes next.
Today, Ignition is proud to open nominations for the 2026 Women in Accounting Awards, recognizing the women driving meaningful change across accounting, bookkeeping, technology and professional services.
This year’s theme, Igniting Change, reflects the momentum we’re seeing across the profession: leaders redefining value, building modern firms, embracing new technology, mentoring others and creating stronger professional communities.
Since launching in 2018, Women in Accounting has celebrated women making an impact across public accounting, private industry, bookkeeping, technology and the broader professional services ecosystem. To date, the program has recognized 287 women across its Top 50 lists, received more than 2,400 nominations, and represented professionals from more than 21 countries.
“The accounting profession is changing quickly, and women across the industry are playing a critical role in leading that change."
Anne Ting, Chief Marketing Officer at Ignition
"Through the Women in Accounting program and awards, we want to recognize the leaders who are not only adapting to change, but actively igniting it, whether by building more sustainable firms, pricing their expertise with confidence, adopting new technology, or lifting others in the profession.”
Celebrating the women igniting change
The 2026 awards will recognize impact across five categories:
- Leading with Value Award: for women redefining how accounting services are delivered and valued, from advisory-led work to pricing their expertise with confidence.
- Igniting Change Leader Award: for leaders driving meaningful transformation within their firm or across the profession.
- Innovation Award: for women embracing AI, technology, automation or new ways of working to modernize accounting practices.
- Rising Leader Award: for emerging leaders with less than 10 years of experience who are already making a meaningful impact.
- Community Impact Award: for women strengthening the profession through mentorship, advocacy, education, and knowledge-sharing.
Who’s igniting change in your network?
Recognition matters. Nominate a woman who’s leading with value, embracing innovation, mentoring others, modernizing her firm or helping move the accounting profession forward.
The awards are open globally, and nominations can be submitted for yourself, a colleague, peer, client or community leader. Whether she’s a firm owner, partner, bookkeeper, advisor, technologist, educator, team lead or emerging leader, we want to hear the stories of women helping move the profession forward.
Why recognition matters
For past honorees, Women in Accounting has never been just about one moment of recognition. It’s about visibility, confidence and the power of seeing more women celebrated for the work they’re already doing.
As Women in Accounting alumna Katie Bryan of Propeller Advisory shared:
“It feels less like a personal accolade and more like a celebration of a movement. A signal that the industry is changing and that the women driving that change are being seen.”
Lisa Martin of Go Figure 2005 Limited echoed the importance of visibility:
“Recognition like this isn’t just about individual success—it’s about visibility, and showing other women what’s possible.”
That visibility matters. It helps emerging leaders see a path forward. It celebrates the people building better firms, stronger teams and more connected communities. And it reminds the profession that change is already happening, led by women whose work deserves to be seen.
