Disclaimer: This works on the free version of Zapier but if you want to include multiple steps, you’ll need a paid Zapier subscription.

If you are using Trello for task/project management, this zap will automate the creation of cards and checklist items, allowing you to shift your focus away from administrative tasks, to client deliverables.

This also ensures you and your team are on the same page and understand exactly what steps need to be completed in order to fulfill client deliverables.

A new card will be created for each of your clients and the different services they’ve subscribed to. We recommend creating a separate Board for the different types of clients or service offerings you may have (e.g. Bookkeeping, Tax, Advisory, Full Service, Projects).

This will allow you to organize your clients into their respective groups, as opposed to creating multiple cards for each client in one board.

Beginner: Create a Card in Trello with a Checklist

Click the image above for the pre-made Zapier template.

As this is a beginner zap, this will only create one card in one board with the relevant checklist items.

This zap uses a filter to determine which board and what checklist items will be created (e.g. Only create card with bookkeeping checklist items in the Bookkeeping board if the service name includes Bookkeeping).

You can duplicate this zap a number of times to ensure that when a client that accepts several different services, several cards will be created in the relevant boards.

Advanced: Use Zapier Paths to create cards in different boards when an Ignition proposal is accepted

This advanced zap will be useful if your clients typically subscribe to multiple different service types within one proposal (e.g. You provide them with bookkeeping, corporate tax, and personal tax services on one proposal).

This zap allows you to set up paths within one zap instead of creating multiple zaps to achieve the same thing for different service types.

The paths use criteria set out in filters to determine what cards will be created.
