ON-DEMAND WEBINAR 10 Feb 2026

Are your client engagements ready for MTD and year end?

As MTD for Income Tax approaches and year end looms, many firms are realising their engagement setup isn’t built for what’s coming next. More frequent reporting, greater client involvement, and growing workloads can quickly create extra admin and cash flow pressure. We’ll also look at how to keep subscriptions, pricing, and ongoing services aligned as more clients move into digital software.

In this session, Jack Farrant is joined by MTD expert Lorraine Ellison, founder of Simply Additions. Lorraine has been part of the MTD beta since day one and brings practical insight from firms already working within the new requirements.

What we'll cover:

  • How to identify which clients are mandated for MTD and when it applies

  • What good MTD client onboarding and registration looks like in practice

  • How to get client bookkeeping up to the standard MTD requires

  • Ways to manage the increased workload and align fees with ongoing MTD work

Lorraine is the founder of Simply Additions. She is a workaholic and has a thirst for learning new things. She led the company’s transformation into 100% digitalisation. She is CIMA qualified, chartered management accountant with a love of tax. Year-end accounts + Tax + Management accounts is an unusual combination but works well when looking after start-ups and micro limited companies (big company knowledge without employing 3 accountants!).

Lorraine is often referred to as the Queen of QuickBooks by those who know her. Outside of work, Lorraine enjoys socialising, good food, and a glass of wine, but over the past two years she has made parkruns a key focus. She recently completed her 100th parkrun and regularly shares her journey on LinkedIn.  She also provides volunteer support to the accountancy industry and to the local university. Lorraine is a keen networker and as a result she has a long list of trusted contacts who she can share with her clients and local business community.
